The University of Alabama

CSI Alabama

The CSI television shows have put forensic investigation at the top of many students' lists of interests. This learning community won't make you a TV star, but it will show you the different types of study that go into crime scene investigation and it will provide some interesting hands-on experiences of a legal variety.

The courses that compose the CSI freshman learning community are Introduction to Anthropology (ANT 100), Freshman Composition (English 101 or 103), Introduction to Criminal Justice (CJ 100), and the one-hour integrative seminar (FLC 101). With the exception of CJ 100 and the FLC seminar, all are General Education courses.

The director of the CSI Alabama freshman learning community is Prof. Keith Jacobi of the Department of Anthropology. Prof. Jacobi is also the Curator of Human Osteology at the UA Museum of Natural History and is frequently involved in forensic investigations.
