Entrepreneurship

What is an entrepreneur in today's world? Is it just a small or large business person? Or is the concept of entrepreneurship valuable in many professions? This Freshman Learning Community explores entrepreneurship as a useful approach for many professions. Entrepreneurs are creative problem-solvers. They take advantage of opportunities as these arise to improve themselves and their communities. They are people who focus on change and its potential for good.

To emphasize the human and creative aspects of entrepreneurship, this FLC is composed of New 212, Creativity, and an introduction to psychology, Psychology 101. These two courses are linked to a freshman composition course, English 101 or 103, and to an FLC 101 seminar. The University has a new minor in Entrepreneurship and this FLC is a good introduction for you to that minor.

The director of the Entrepreneurship FLC is Prof. Lou Marino of the Department of Management.
