The Business of Health Care Management

The Business of Health Care Management Freshman Learning Community provides students who are interested in both general business management and health care management with a broad overview of current issues and possible career paths in the health care industry. This course will feature guest lecturers from industry and field trips to several health care organizations. The directors are Prof. Jullet Davis and Prof. Marilyn Whitman. Both are members of the faculty of the Department of Management in the College of Commerce and Business Administration.

The community links HD 101, Introduction to Human Development, with ANT 102, Introduction to Cultural Anthropology, and PY 101, Intro to Psychology to give students a good understanding of the role of culture and the life cycle in health care management. The community also includes Freshman Composition (EN 101 or 103) and the one credit hour FLC 101 with Professors Davis and Whitman.
