The Arts, Food, Fashion, and Culture of Italy

Students in this FLC investigate the unique combination of arts and culture that have made Italy so interesting for so long. The subject matter is food, fashion, film, theatre, and popular traditions. The discussions will create a group of explorers not just of a culture but of an entire civilization.

The courses that compose the community are Introductory Italian (IT 101), Art History from the Renaissance to Modern (ARH 253), Freshman Composition (English 101 or 103), and the one-hour integrative seminar (FLC 101).

The director of the community is Professor Mauritzio Godorecci. Prof. Godorecci teaches Italian in the Department of Modern Languages and Classics, as well as classes in the English department and in the Blount Program. He is a poet and a visual artist.
